If I could design my own reading room what would it look like?
I’ve often thought about this. Would it be a long gallery with mullioned windows like the library in Winston Churchill’s home? I’d always thought that something venerable, English and faintly musty, smelling of woodsmoke, wet dog and crumbling leather would be my thing, but then I saw this, and fell in love in an instant. It’s Fire Canyon House in Santa Barbara (photo by Richard Powers).
Do you have a favorite photograph of a truly lust-worthy reading room?

This is just a wow.
This is lovely… Once in I'd never want to leave 🙂

Wow Lia,
This place is just incredible. I want to read in a place like that! Yet… I don't know if I'd read much or I'd just look at the window!
Funny my ideal place was so similar to yours, only no dogs, just the cats by the fireplace 🙂
I know, right? But I shouldn't be too, too jealous because I do have a bedroom I love…

And a balcony to write on when it's warm outside…
