Eric Elfman expands his critique group offerings
As if writing a sure-fire bestselling series, The Accelerati Trilogy, with his co-author, Neal Shusterman, wasn't busy-making enough, author and writing coach Eric Elfman loves to help writers coming up behind him, and offers helpful critique sessions developed by his experiences as a long-time faculty member at the Big Sur Writing Workshop, where I first met him.
Now, thanks to word getting out about how important his help has been to the careers of a number of successful authors, he's expanded his offerings to three new critique groups. I'll let him tell you about them in his own words:
Due to overwhelming demand, I'm starting three new critique groups in September.
For writers in the Bay Area, my critique groups will be held in person, in my backyard.
For those living anywhere else in the country, my telecritiques take place over a conference call, with pages shared beforehand via email. (A number of writers in my previous telecritiques have had their books published!)
Each group meets twice a month. The sessions last approximately 2 hours, and each author has up to half an hour to focus on their own work. Authors may read pages from their manuscript, take us through a synopsis, or brainstorm an idea. Then I lead the other writers in a round of feedback, discussing the story, characters, conflict, pacing, dialogue, narrative voice, etc., etc.
You will also receive a private 10-minute Laser Session with me each month, where we can hone in on a specific story or character question. These monthly mini-sessions continue as long as you're in one of my groups.
For first-timers and returning clients, I'm offering a 50% discount for the first month. (Instead of $200, the first month is only $100.) Space is limited, so if you're interested, get back to me right away. These workshops begin next month, and they will fill up.
What Eric's past students say about him:
"Eric Elfman is a wonderful writing coach…his questions and comments were insightful and supportive, whether a project was at its beginning stages or near completion."
—Meg Medina, Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass
"Eric sees the whole story right away - even from a brief sample of writing. He tells you whether it rings true. He allows your writing to be what it is, your story, while offering simple, but eye opening suggestions for improvement."
—Kathryn Fitzmaurice, The Year the Swallows Came Early and Destiny, Rewritten
"I cannot praise Eric's help enough."
—Veronica Rossi, Under the Never Sky and Through the Ever Night
Wherever you are in the process, if you have a manuscript you're working on, a story you're trying to tell, or a compelling idea for a story, if you're committed to finishing that novel and making it the strongest it can be, email me at eric@ericElfmanCoaching.com to sign up now.
And keep the words flowing!
